PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has thanked the church for the role it plays in supporting government initiatives in various sectors including health.
This Thursday, President Emmerson Mnangagwa received a donation comprising of 570 hospital beds, 560 wheel chairs and over 1 million sanitary wear from Vapostori nema Zion for ED.
President Mnangagwa noted the importance of such a gesture in supporting not only the vulnerable in society but also government’s health sector targets.
“We should be able to thank those who have made the donation. These are the people in society who think about others, not about themselves. They have gone out to mobilise resources for the purposes of helping those who do not have. They could have just got these things and distributed themselves, but they felt, no, let’s put these things together, give them to the President, and identify the people in actual need. It is now my duty and the office of the President to identify the most in need in our society to receive this donation,” said the President.
Leader of the church grouping, Madzibaba Moses Gwasarira said they are happy to do their part in service to his country.
He said, “I am happy to do my small part in supporting government development drive.”
The church continues to play a key role in supporting government in various sectors of the economy in the drive towards sustainable development.
