ZANU PF President and First Secretary, Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa has urged the ruling party’s supporters to go out in their numbers and defend the country’s sovereignty and independence in the general elections set for Wednesday next week.

The ZANU PF election campaign rolled into Manicaland Province this Wednesday as President Emmerson Mnangagwa addressed thousands of party supporters at Handina Secondary School in Makoni South Constituency.

The ruling party’s President and First Secretary interacted with supporters before taking to the podium to give an insight into the projects achieved under the Second Republic and what will be achieved during the second term in office.

“Let’s go out in our numbers, as villages, as wards, as constituencies, our victory is on the road, our victory is imminent, our victory is certain. Those who imposed sanctions on us thought Zimbabweans will revolt against the government, we are a revolutionary people, we fought for our democracy and no one will take it away from us, we are a proud people of Zimbabwe and we will develop our country,” he said.

President Mnangagwa who is confident of victory also reminded Zimbabweans to guard the prevailing peace and unity jealously.

He added saying “Let’s us jealously guard the peace, tranquillity, harmony which we have in our motherland Zimbabwe. We want our country to remain peaceful. Peace and non-violence, ZANU PF will continue to develop this country in leaps and bounds.”

The Second Republic has registered huge milestones across the economic sectors of the country, which have a huge impact on the livelihoods of Zimbabweans.

“Look what we have done in five years, you marvel at roads, resuscitation and expansion of industries, the agricultural sector with dams for irrigation to ensure food security, wheat surplus, all these are milestones of the second republic. ZANU PF is the only party with a history which brought independence,” the President reiterated.

Zimbabwe is heading for general elections next week and ZANU PF’s next star rally will be in Midlands Province this Saturday.
