THE Vice Chairperson of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Cde Jiang Xinzhi has arrived in Zimbabwe to share notes and strengthen relations with the ruling ZANU PF party and enhance governance capacity between the two political parties.
Briefing the guest upon arrival at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport this Monday, ZANU PF National Chairperson, Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri said Zimbabwe continues to enjoy political and economic relations with China.
“You have come at a time when we just had our general elections which we won resoundingly, and we continue to enjoy peace. We continue to work together as we face global threats of terrorism, imperialism and neo-colonialism. China has stood with Zimbabwe.”
Cde Jiang said his delegation is in Zimbabwe to enhance governance capacity.
“We thank Zimbabwe and ZANU PF for sending the national chairperson to welcome me, which shows the importance they attach to this visit. We are here to follow through on important consensus and compare notes. China and Zimbabwe’s relationship dates back to the liberation struggle and continues to grow through fruitful strategic communication. Government to government, we have done a lot of construction.”
Cde Muchinguri-Kashiri also acknowledged the massive investment and development being spearheaded by the Chinese government in Zimbabwe.
