Special envoy from Belarus paid a courtesy call on President Emmerson Mnangagwa

A special envoy from Belarus, General Victor Shemain has paid a courtesy call on President Emmerson Mnangagwa at the State House this Monday.

The two met in a closed-door meeting, and according to Belarusian officials who spoke to the media, the meeting discussed the bilateral relations between Minsk and Harare, with an agreement to deepen trade relations.

Earlier in January, Belarusian President, HE Alexander Lukashenko was in Zimbabwe for a state visit.

During his visit, several memoranda of understanding were signed and these included agreements for a joint permanent commission between the two countries, an MOU on the promotion and reciprocal protection of investments and one on the mutual recognition of educational qualifications.
