OPEAAL Presidential Scholarship beneficiaries grateful to President Mnangagwa

Story by Collete Musanyera

More than 2 500 students at various tertiary institutions have benefited from the Office of the Presidential Envoy and Ambassador at Large (OPEAAL) Scholarships programme after their tuition fees were paid recently.

The students have since expressed gratitude to President Emmerson Mnangagwa for facilitating the empowerment programme.

The students are drawn from various institutions of higher learning including Belvedere Technical Teachers College.

“We would like to express our sincere gratitude to President Mnangagwa for paying our fees. We would also like to thank Ambassador Uebert Angel for facilitating the programme,” a beneficiary told the ZBC News.

Beneficiaries from Harare Polytechnic College are equally grateful.

“We would like to express our gratitude to President Mnangagwa and Ambassador Ubert Angel for this initiative. They are the ones paying for our fees and we are really grateful.”

The OPEAAL Presidential Scholarship programme which is sponsored by Ambassador Uebert Angel has so far assisted more than five thousand students since its inception

Assisting students from disadvantaged backgrounds, the scholarship programme is based on President Mnangagwa’s all-encompassing principle of leaving no one and no place behind.
