THOUSANDS of people from across the nation are expected to gather in Bulawayo this Sunday for the annual National Thanksgiving Service to be attended by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
With a number of positive gains being witnessed in the country, this year’s National Thanksgiving and Dedication Service is expected to bring together interdenominational churches to pray for unity, peace and development.
In a press briefing held in Bulawayo this Saturday, Chairperson of the Faith for Nation Campaign, Prophet Andrew Wutawunashe said this year, the focus has been to ensure that development is accelerated and that the aspirations of the nation to become an upper-middle-income society ahead of 2030 is catalysed.
“We are holding our seventh edition of thanksgiving and dedication service where we are going to thank the Lord for our nation’s advances or areas of progress in 2023. The service marks the close of a productive year in which the nation witnessed many good things of progress and development in various areas of the nation’s life including a successful and peaceful plebiscite which reflected the wishes of the people concerning in Zimbabwe they want.
“The gathering dedicates the nation to the almighty God for blessing and help in 2024. This is a chance to come together and pray for the coming year, and ask God for more positive gains in the country. We are also going to present the nation to the Lord and ask for his help in the coming year 2024. Everyone is welcome at the service. President Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to come and speak to the nation on what the state is doing. The church is enjoined to pray for the country’s leaders that they may continue to receive help from God as well as dedicate the coming year to accelerated economic growth for the country.”
Since 2017, the gathering has grown to be a platform for nurturing Zimbabwe into a united people with a unified purpose of building a prosperous nation.
The service will run under the theme: ‘A time to work hard in unity under God to build our nation.’
