TV BRICS and Moscow Centre for International Cooperation to enhance Moscow’s attractiveness in BRICS+ media space
TV BRICS – On the margins of the 5th BRICS+ International Municipal Forum, a cooperation agreement was signed between the TV BRICS International Media Network and the Moscow Center for International Cooperation (MCIC).
The sides agreed to work together to promote Moscow’s investment attractiveness in the BRICS+ media space, implement projects that promote trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural co-operation between Moscow and the cities of the BRICS+ countries.
“This is a big and important step in our relationship aimed at strengthening cooperation and collaboration between our organisations. The signing of the agreement not only ensures the expansion of our partner community, but also gives a start to new joint projects that contribute to the expansion of international interaction between Moscow and the BRICS countries, in 2024 – already BRICS+. I am confident that the interaction will help us achieve significant goals in future projects,” emphasised Alexandra Shevtsova, Deputy CEO of MCIC.
According to Daria Ivankova, Director of the International Cooperation Department of TV BRICS, this agreement is aimed at strengthening interregional cooperation between the BRICS countries.
“TV BRICS provides extensive support to the regions through direct partnerships with municipal and regional media in the alliance countries, including TVC-RIO in Brazil, Dongbeiwang in China, Durban TV in South Africa, Trinity Mirror in India, as well as with local governments, in particular the Ministry of Education of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
Moscow is an example of urban development, which we want to share with the audience of foreign media, TV BRICS partners,” said Daria Ivankova, Director of the International Cooperation Department of TV BRICS.
The Moscow Centre for International Cooperation was established by order of the Moscow City Government in 2002 and is subordinate to the Department of Non-Economic and International Relations of Moscow.
The Centre’s activities are aimed at promoting the city’s socio-economic development, expanding international relations and efficient use of its scientific, technical and industrial potential.
Moscow governmental institutions are actively involved in the BRICS+ IMF. For example, the Moscow City Duma co-organised the session “Prospects for the Development of International Cooperation of Representative Bodies at the Metropolitan, Regional and Municipal Levels in the BRICS+ Framework”.
The session “BRICS Dialogue: Russia-India in a Changing Global World” was co-organised by the Department for External Economic and International Relations of Moscow.
The 5th BRICS+ International Municipal Forum brought together representatives of federal and regional agencies, local governments, business communities, public organisations and experts in St. Petersburg to discuss topical issues of interregional cooperation.
More than 7 000 delegates, including 2 000 foreign delegates from 200 cities around the world, are taking part in the V BRICS+ International Municipal Forum.
