PARLIAMENTARIANS have applauded the Second Republic for spearheading development projects across the country that are in line with the vision to attain an upper middle-income society by 2030.
The Second Republic under the stewardship of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, has taken bold steps in transforming the country’s infrastructure and implementing various economic development projects for the benefit of the citizenry.
These efforts have not gone unnoticed and during the State of the Nation Address debate in the Lower House this Tuesday, Parliamentarians highlighted the success of the Second Republic’s development agenda.
“Our President is a visionary leader and one of the projects worth noting is the completion of the parliament building and even the majority from the opposition are impressed. We can also talk of the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport as it is a marvel. There are a lot of success projects under President Mnangagwa,” said National Assembly member, Honourable Farai Jere.
Another National Assembly member, Honourable Gertrude Chibagu noted, “We have a lot of projects in our constituency especially in my area that is Guruve. We have massive irrigation projects, even the roads are in good shape in Kanyemba.”
The Expansion of the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport, construction of the new parliament building, rehabilitation of the country’s roads and bridges as well as the construction of dams are some of the mega projects rolled by the Second Republic.
Parliamentarians also spoke on the need for unity of purpose in dealing with the scourge of drug and substance abuse, which is robbing the country’s youths of their future.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa established an inter-ministerial committee in April last year to deal with the menace of drug and substance abuse.
