TRAVEL Agents from across the globe who are on a post-Sanganai/Hlanganani tour in Victoria Falls have a sense of satisfaction after experiencing the best of the country’s tourism industry.
What is left for the travel agents from Poland, Nigeria, South Africa, Rwanda and German who were in Victoria Falls this Monday on a familiarisation tour is to market tourism offerings such as the Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park, among others.
Ms Debbie Egwuogu, a travel agent from Nigeria, expressed her delight.
“Victoria Falls has been on my bucket list for a long time and I’m happy to be here. I’m satisfied by what I saw here including the Victoria Falls and Matopos National. Back home I will market these offerings and others.”
A representative of Adventure Explorers Warsaw from Poland, Mr Tomasz Muchalski said, “Zimbabwe is beautiful I’m impressed.”
“Zimbabwe is amazing, the people, the culture, we have been impressed with what we saw here.We promise to bring tourists into Zimbabwe,”said Ms Naledi [Kenosi from Africa Kamonate Safaris Maun in Botswana.
The recent activity in the sector has left tourism players convinced that the industry in on a rebound adding that such tours are the best foot forward to further grow the industry.
“These people are game changers they recommend a destination, them being here, they will market Zimbabwe out there,”said Elgiboh Travel and Tours Agency, Mr Geshem Nyamadzawo.
Elephant Experience Marketing Manager, Ms Janice Ncube said, “The tourism sector is growing as we continue to receive huge groups from both local and international source markets. We edge all players to continue to work together to grow the sector.”
Zimbabwe’s tourism receipts increased from US$340 million last year to US$400 million in the first eight months of the year.
