Late coloured community representative described as development champion

Story by ZBC Reporter

THE late Chairman for Arcadia Community Centre and representative of the Coloured community in the ruling ZANU PF party Mr Paul Deverage Peters, who died on the 27th of last month, has been described as a champion of community development.

A memorial service for the late Mr Peters was held this Wednesday at the Braeside Catholic church, where he was praised for his determination, hard-work and loyalty to the country.

Mr Peters was involved in various election campaigns for the ruling party, including this year’s harmonised elections where ZANU PF is targeting at least 5 million votes for President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

A technician by profession, Mr Peters worked for various companies including ZESA Holdings, Hunyani Paper and Packaging, the Zimbabwe National Army and the then Ministry of Manpower Planning and Development in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Born on the 26th of August in 1958, Mr Peters was an active and loyal member of the ruling party, shepherding the Coloured community to embracing and supporting government development programmes.

He is survived by six children and nine grandchildren.
