TWO inmates at Harare Central Prison have appeared in court on charges of murder after allegedly fatally assaulting another inmate.
The two prisoners, allegedly teamed up to assault a fellow prisoner, accusing him of attempting to sodomise one of them.
Nelson Chizuzu aged 39 and Obey Chirandu aged 40 were not asked to plead when they appeared before a Harare magistrate.
The two were remanded in custody.
Meanwhile, 66- year-old Jennifer Austen together with Tarisayi Ziyambi aged 39 and Daniel Austen also aged 39 who allegedly sold a car they had hired at a car rental firm, have appeared in court on charges of theft of a motor vehicle.
It is alleged that the trio went to a car rental where they hired a Toyota Fortuner before they sold it.
They were later arrested for selling the car without the authorisation of the owner.
The three were remanded in custody pending their bail hearing.
