TWO teenage boys from Harare, who allegedly connived to rape a 10-year-old girl are set to face the consequences of their actions after appearing in court this Thursday facing charges of rape.
A 19-year-old boy and his friend aged 18 allegedly waylaid the 10-year-old girl when she was coming from school before taking her to the accused’s house.
It is alleged that the 18-year-old who is related to the victim then left the girl with his friend before he raped her.
The court heard that the 18-year-old later came back and threatened the girl not to reveal the matter.
Allegations are that the co-accused further connived to sexually abuse the girl twice before the matter came to light.
The duo was advised to apply for bail at the High Court.
Meanwhile, in another case, a suspected armed robber, Fanana Ngwenya aged 41 is in trouble for allegedly shooting and killing a neighbourhood watch officer and seriously injuring another after a shootout during a robbery.
It is alleged that the accused and his gang members forced their way into a house in Belvedere where they demanded cash.
The accused who got away with over US$ 30,000 in cash is facing charges of murder, attempted murder and armed robbery.
