A 36-year-old man from Epworth in Harare has appeared in court after allegedly raping his 13-year-old stepdaughter.
The man allegedly sexually abused his 13-year-old stepdaughter at gunpoint in 2020 when he was home alone with the child.
The court heard that the accused who allegedly infected the girl with a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) threatened to kill her if she disclosed the abuse to anyone.
The matter came to light after a relative noticed genital warts on the girl in November this year.
She was then interviewed by the police and narrated her ordeal leading to the arrest of the accused.
Meanwhile, in another case, 47-year-old Misheck Mapisa appeared in court this Monday for allegedly raping and robbing a 25-year-old woman.
The incident is alleged to have taken place at a plot in Marlborough sometime in November this year.
Allegations are that the accused attacked the woman who was on her way home and raped her before robbing her of valuables.
The court heard that Mapisa dragged the woman to a secluded plot where he committed the sexual assault.
Further allegations are that the accused fled from the scene, with the complainant getting assistance from a passerby.
