MORE than 10 local horticultural firms are set to participate at the Fruit Logistica Fair which runs from the 7th to the 9th of this month in Berlin, Germany.
Local trade promotion body, ZimTrade, has facilitated the participation of local horticultural produce companies at one of the largest fruit and vegetable industry international trade fairs, the Fruit Logistica, which gets underway next week in Berlin.
ZimTrade reveals the development will see the companies exhibiting various products to over 75 000 visitors and companies, giving them an opportunity to expand their business network.
“We are taking over 10 companies from 7-9 in Berlin with different products from fresh peas blend melons we are looking forward to making business, we have farmers interested as exhibitors,” said ZimTrade export promotion officer, Mr Renwick Wachenyuka.
The expo is expected to increase business with targets to surpass last year’s figures.
More than 3 000 companies are expected to participate at this year’s Fruit Logistica which is an opportunity for Zimbabwean producers to interact with new source markets.
Trade in horticultural produce rose from 251 billion United States dollars in 2017 to around 300 billion United States dollars in 2021 according to the Trade Map, an indication of the high demand for fresh produce globally.
