Chibuku Road to Fame 2023 edition commences this Saturday

The 2023 edition of the Chibuku Road to Fame gets underway this Saturday, with provincial contests taking centre stage across the country.

Aimed at identifying and nurturing talent, the contest gets underway this weekend, with provincial competitions set to be held in Mashonaland East and Midlands followed by the other eight provinces.

Winners at the provincial competitions will battle it out at the national finals slated for Takashinga Cricket Club in Harare on the 14th of next month.

Event organisers are daggling US$15 000 in prize money and a recording deal for the winner.

Sorghum marketing manager, Patience Dingani said, “So, we want people to come through with different things and this year we have several additions as long as the group fits the criteria required. The Road to Fame starts this weekend and will cascade to other provinces. We have several prizes. For the first position it’s US$15 000 and a recording deal, for the second it’s us$10 000 then US$7 000 for the third prize. We also have prizes at the provincial level.”

Meanwhile, this year Hip hop and Zimdancehall acts are expected to be part of the show after the organisers added the two genres.
