Chirewa reconnects with Zimbabwean heritage during off-season break

WARRIORS forward Tawanda Chirewa is using his off-season break to deepen his connection with Zimbabwe by visiting cultural and historical landmarks across the country.

The 22-year-old, who was born in England and has already earned 11 caps for the Warriors, has been exploring various heritage sites, including Baradzanwa Village in Mazowe.

Chirewa also attended Saturday’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match between Scottland and Herentals at Rufaro Stadium.

The Warriors forward has been spending time with captain Marvelous Nakamba and defender Teenage Hadebe.

Chirewa is yet to play in front of the home crowd due to the absence of a CAF-approved stadium in the country.

The talented forward is, however, hopeful that the situation will change later this year, with the National Sports Stadium expected to host international matches from September.
