THE Zimbabwe Rugby Union (ZRU) has suspended its president, Mr Losson Mtongwiza and Zimbabwe Women’s Rugby Chairperson Ms Regina Mwanandiwa, pending further inquiry.
The decision follows recommendations from the Sports and Recreation Commission and an Extraordinary General Meeting held this Tuesday.
The suspensions are part of the ZRU’s commitment to upholding transparency, governance and accountability in the management of rugby in Zimbabwe.
Mr Mtongwiza and Ms Mwanandiwa have been ordered to surrender all rugby-related duties and refrain from representing the ZRU during the suspension period.
The ZRU has assured stakeholders that it will operate within the confines of the constitution and follow due process during the inquiry.
