Turkish Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Her Excellency Berna Kasnakli Versteden is convinced the Geo Pomona Waste to Energy project will revolutionise Zimbabwe’s energy sector.
As the country continues to explore more innovative energy solutions, the Geo Pomona Waste to Energy project has set the standard for innovative waste management and sustainability in the region.

Briefing journalists on the side-lines of a tour of Geo Pomona Waste Management plant in Harare this Tuesday, Turkiye Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Ms Berna Kasnakli Versteden is convinced the plant will revolutionise the country’s energy sector.
“I’m impressed by the Waste management project, the state of the art facility and the company is the best in Southern Africa. This nationhood project, which is called zero waste, it reduces waste and reach to international UN resolutions to have zero waste. A vast area of opportunity is there which the First Lady of Zimbabwe has signed to for project,” she said.

Geo Pomona chief executive officer and Executive Chairperson, Dr Dilesh Nguwaya summed up the relationship between his company and Turkiye companies.
He said, “Geo Pomona continues to cement ties with foreigners and other international partners which include the Turkish who have been supplying us with critical implements, from these sporting stuff and sorting plant among other things.”

Upon completion, the Geo Pomona Waste to Energy project is expected to produce between 16 and 22 megawatts of electricity that will be fed into the national grid.
