THE country’s business sector is gearing up for fruitful engagements at the annual investment expo that will be part of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) next week.
The 63rd edition of the ZITF will run from the 25th to the 29th of this month running under the theme ‘Continuous Innovation and Global Competitiveness.’
Under the National Development Strategy One, Zimbabwe is focusing on achieving an export-led economy and this year’s ZITF theme seeks to buttress this economic target.
The country’s private sector is hoping to leverage the forthcoming fair to conduct fruitful business engagements.
Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce President Mr Mike Kamungeremu said, “As the representative body of the private sector ZNCC we are focusing on the need to increase economic output to desired levels hence we are taking the engagements that will happen at ZITF seriously as we seek to strengthen domestic value chains as uplift our economy.”
Industrialist, Dr Tinashe Manzungu underscored the significance of trade expos for Zimbabwe at a time the country is on a developmental trajectory.
“At the moment Zimbabwe is boasting of a good investment environment which has attracted a lot of businesses from around the world therefore the coming in of the ZITF is a good occasion for us as business to foster economic growth for our lovely country like they say ‘nyika inovakwa nevene vayo’,” he noted.
The trade fair has been identified as the perfect platform for sealing business synergies.
