UNBEATEN Platinum Royals are determined to continue with their blistering form in the women’s top flight when they face a new-look Harare City side this Saturday at Gresham Grounds in Zvishavane.
Winning their first three games and in third position on goal difference, Platinum Royals are walking with a spring in their step.
Although it promises to be a battle of fire and ice, a David vs Goliath that will certainly keep fans on the edge of their seats when Harare City Queens invade Zvishavane for a date against Platinum Royals, the home side is confident of making it four wins in a row.
“This is a game of football, and we have prepared very well for this encounter. What we want is to push and push until the end. Our last game against Shesham was a difficult one, and we drew some positives from that game. So, going into this match, we are ready and eager to go,” said Platinum Royals head coach, Lindiwe Ndlovu.
Platinum Royals Midfielder Thelma Masawi is convinced that the girls have enough motivation to overcome the perennial campaigners, “We have been training hard this week, and everyone is raring to go. Although football has three results, we are gunning for the maximum points come the weekend. I implore our fans to come in their numbers since we have a lot in stock for them.”
Weekend action starts with defending champions Herentals hosting Conduit Academy at the National Sports Stadium, Mutare city welcome Maningi Youth to Sakubva’s Chisamba Grounds at 11 am before Faith Drive host former champions Black Rhinos in a 3 pm kickoff at the same venue.
Correctional Queens take on Black Mambas at Wagadhugu stadium, ZRP Harare face MSU at Mkushi while the Bulawayo derby between Hope Academy and Highlanders Royals concludes the weekend action.
