ZIMBABWE is determined to bounce back after losing the first of three One Day International matches against Netherlands at Harare Sports Club this Tuesday.
Zimbabwe’s pride was dented by Netherlands after the Chevrons fell by three wickets in the first ODI as the visitors took a one-nil lead in the three-match series.
The loss against a team that is bottom of the World Cup qualifiers Super League log standings left the Chevrons trailing the Dutch on head-to-head statistics.
Pride is at stake for Zimbabwe in a series that is part of preparations for the World Cup Qualifiers set for June.
Chevrons all-rounder Sean Williams said, ‘‘We definitely need to bounce back, we were knocked back a bit but we are looking to take confidence into the qualifiers that we are hosting so we need to master our conditions as well as try out new combinations but we are very determined to back.’’
Veteran all-rounder, Sean Williams, who missed the first match after a bout of flu, is expected back in the team for the second ODI this Thursday.
Williams will be eager to prove himself after missing recent matches with a few niggles.
