Story by Lawrence Trusida

The Zimbabwe under-20 Rugby team, the Young Sables beat Namibia 35-23 at Harare Sports Club this Wednesday to consolidate their position in the Barthes Trophy.

The Young Sables are just one victory away from making it a hat-trick of African titles after seeing off rivals, Namibia 35-23 this Wednesday at the Harare Sports Club.

The Zimbabwean Under-20 boys are the defending continental champions after winning the Barthes Trophy in the last two editions.

Zimbabwe are bidding to make it a hat-trick and they are on course after notching up their second victory of the tournament.

The hosts dominated the match but never removed their foot on the pedal as the physically imposing Namibians were never out of the match.

The Young Sables went to halftime leading 17 -11 before scoring almost as many points in the second half to see off the Southern African rivals.

In an earlier match, Kenya walloped Tunisia 57-17 to keep their hopes alive as they face Zimbabwe in a winner-take-all this Sunday at the Harare Sports Club.

The four teams are vying for the coveted Africa Rugby Barthes Trophy, the premier junior continental rugby showpiece which offers a ticket to the U20 Junior World Trophy set for Scotland in July.
