Young golfer wins Sunshine Tour’s Kit Kat Open in South Africa

Story by Lawrence Trusida, Sports Editor

YOUNG Zimbabwean golfer Kieran Vincent continued with his rise to stardom on the international circuit after winning the Sunshine Tour’s Kit Kat Open in South Africa.

The 26-year-old who was tied for fourth at last month’s Zim Open continued with his good form after winning the Kit Kat Pro-Am in South Africa.

It was his second victory on the international circuit after his triumphant breakthrough at the Asian Open last season.

Vincent went into the final round tied for the lead on 15-under-par with James Mack, and there were 11 other golfers within five shots.

The 26-year-old, however, gave them no chance as he fired a brilliant, bogey-free six-under-par to end on 21-under and clinch a comfortable victory.

“This was a tough course but we put in some h8gh standards which will be difficult to match but a super excited about the way we played and the support that I received from my family that was also in the crowd.”

Kieran is young brother to Zimbabwean golfer Scott Vincent and the siblings compete in the lucrative LIV Golf Open championship.
