EGYPTIAN forward Mohamed Salah has scored his 200th goal for Liverpool in all competitions after getting the equaliser in the 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park this Saturday.

Salah needed just 327 games to achieve the feat, his strike rate is only outstripped by Gordon Hodgson, who found the net with an average of 1.56 (241 goals in 377 appearances) which is slightly better than Salah’s 1.64.

The Egyptian’s 76th minute equaliser was also his 150th Premier League goal making him the first African player to reach that figure.

The 2023 CAF Men’s African Footballer of the Year nominee becomes the 5th ever Liverpool player to achieve this historic feat.

The Egyptian is arguably one of the best African players ever, having won the CAF Men’s African Footballer of the Year back-to-back in 2017 and ’18 before his then-Liverpool teammate Mane won the next two editions awarded for 2019 and 2022. Salah was runner-up last year and is part of the final three nominees to bag the gong this year.

Salah has been a household name in the English Premier League since featuring for the Reds as he went on to win three EPL golden boots with Liverpool, to level with Alan Shearer and Harry Kane on second most golden boots.

Salah who’s still active has a chance to equal the record with Thiery Henry who holds the record with four golden boots.
