LEAGUE returnees Hwange are relishing the prospect of playing at their favourite hunting ground after the Colliery stadium was approved to host Premier Soccer league matches.
Chipangano are oozing with confidence ahead of their match day eight encounter against informing Bulawayo Chiefs who have won two matches on the bounce.
Better known as Chipangano’s Lion’s Den, the Colliery stadium does not present good memories for most premier league clubs.
Week eight saw the venue which was temporarily banned getting the nod to host Hwange’s Premier Soccer League home matches.
The approval of the facility may have come at an opportune time for Hwange who have had a hectic travelling programme fulfilling their home fixtures in Bulawayo.
Be that as it may, Hwange have refused to be cry babies grinding positive results which has seen them occupying eighth position on the log standings with 10 points.
Hwange head coach Nation Dube says his charges should utilise home advantage to keep pace with log leaders Highlanders.
“It is a very important game that we must win as we will be playing in front of our home crowd for the first time this season. We need to post a positive result,” he said.
Likewise, their opponents Bulawayo Chiefs are not reading much in playing away from home after posting two successive victories away to Dynamos and at home to Yadah.
“We know the type of challenge we will face in front of their home crowds but we are prepared to go and play. We have discovered that winning formulae so whether it’s at home or away it doesn’t matter. We plan for each game with different strategies. We need to keep the momentum,” said Bulawayo Chiefs Head coach, Lizwe Sweswe.
Premier Soccer League Player of the Month Mthokozisi Msebe is equally confident hoping to carry on with his rich vein of form at the Colliery.
“I hope I will carry the form to that game but more importantly it’s about how we play as a team because we win and lose together,” he said.
On Saturday rejuvenated Green Fuel hosted wounded ZPC Kariba at Gibbo stadium.
Defending champions FC Platinum will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways when they square off with Manica Diamonds at Mandava, Yadah play CAPS United at the National Sports stadium, while Chicken Inn welcomes Herentals at Luveve.
On Sunday, Dynamos and Triangle square off at the National Sports Stadium, while Sheasham host Highlanders at Bata Stadium.
The fixture between Hwange and Bulawayo Chiefs set for the Colliery concludes Match Day Eight fixtures.
