DYNAMOS Board Chairperson, Bernard Marriot Lusengo has thrown his weight behind under-fire coach, Genesis Mangombe after some sections of the fans called for his sacking following a string of below-par performances.
The country’s most decorated club has been a pale shadow of its usual imposing self in recent times.
The Glamour Boys have not won the league title since 2014 and in that period, they have only won the Chibuku Super Cup Trophy which was delivered by Genesis Mangombe last year.
Since winning the 2014 league title under Kalisto Pasuwa, DeMbare have been runners-up twice in 2015 and 2017 before settling for a third-placed finish last year.
This season, Dynamos have not been consistent and have four victories against newly promoted sides Chegutu Pirates, Arenel Movers, Bikita Minerals and TelOne.
DeMbare are 7th on the Premier Soccer league table, 10 points behind log leaders Manica Diamonds, prompting fans to call for Mangombe’s head.
Amid all the confusion, the Chairperson of the Dynamos Board of Trustees, Bernard Marriot Lusengo has, however, called for patience.
“Every institution goes through a regeneration process and we have to be patient, if we look at the current English Premier League champions, Manchester City at one point they were 16 points behind in the race but they eventually won it by two points so, we have to be patient and I call on the fans to be patient,” said Lusengo.
Dynamos are hoping to come back rejuvenated after the international break ends on the 22nd of June.
