Bulawayo giants Highlanders are hoping their strike force will power them to victory when they clash with former champions FC Platinum in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer encounter set for Barbourfields Stadium this Sunday.

The Bulawayo giants started the season strongly but have been stuttering in the past five matches where they only registered a single victory.

Despite their not-so-convincing displays in recent weeks, Highlanders have been scoring goals and head coach Kelvin Kaindu believes the strike force can carry the day.

“We have been good in front of goal but we can be better and against a team like FC Platinum that is well coached we need to make sure that we take our chances and if we convert like we have been doing I am sure we will get a good result.”

The Bulawayo giants will be missing the services of central midfielder Melikhaya Ncube who is serving a suspension after accumulating three yellow cards.

The steady midfielder has started all of Bosso’s matches this season.

FC Platinum have also been finding the back of the net consistently and have so far scored 14 goals, just one behind Highlanders who also lead the league.

The Platinum Miners have moved to third position after being awarded three points for their abandoned match against CAPS United.

Meanwhile, the Premier Soccer League has summoned new-boys Chegutu Pirates to appear before a disciplinary committee after their match against Dynamos was abandoned with the Harare giants leading one-nil.
