FADING giants Highlanders and CAPS United are set to clash in a low-key battle of the cities at Babourfields stadium this Sunday.

The tie comes when the two giants are struggling for both form and goals this season.

Troubled Highlanders who are winless in six matches are hoping to rekindle the old Bosso spirit when they take on rivals CAPS United in the battle of the cities at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.

The Bulawayo giants are still sweating over the unavailability of Warriors defender Peter Muduhwa who is currently serving a suspension.

“Peter Muduhwa is back again and he will be well positioned at centre back where he performs very well. The team has been on a short break and we hope that this break has been enough for them to recuperate and gain more energy to play in the next game. Our focus is on collecting points to make sure we get the best spot in the league,” said Highlanders head coach, Baltemar Brito.

Their opponents CAPS United seemed to have rediscovered their form in recent times with three victories and a draw in their last four league matches before a morale-shattering Chibuku Super Cup semi-final defeat by Dynamos.

CAPS United head coach, Lloyd Chitembwe, however, believes his charges have something to fight for in the encounter.

“We are pinning our hopes on attitude and talent despite losing our last match against Cranborne Bullets. We have come up with very good ways to prepare for the game against Highlanders, no one in this club takes defeat lightly and that alone should motivate us in our preparations. Coaches and players are all looking forward to the game,” he said.

Highlanders walked away 2-1 victors when the two teams met in July for the first edition of the battle of the cities.
