FUZ engages Simba Bhora on player contracts

Story by Anashe Murombedzi, Sports Reporter

The impasse between Premier Soccer League debutants, Simba Bhora and their former players is far from over, with the Footballers Union of Zimbabwe (FUZ) calling for an amicable solution.

A meeting held between FUZ and Shamva-based side on Monday was inconclusive.

“We had a meeting with them on Monday and so decided that there should be a proper mutual separation. So there is still a lot that we need to tackle as discussions are ongoing. We haven’t concluded yet, we still have back and forth meetings so that we will see what exactly we need to do,” noted FUZ president, Desmond Maringwa.

Simba Bhora are accused of breach of contract after severing ties with five players, including former CAPS United Captain Hardlife Zvirekwi, Blessing Mukoko, Kumbiraishe Kapinyu, Nigel Tinarwo and Brown Wilson.

According to FUZ, the termination of the players’ contracts was without just cause and is regarded as violation of labour laws.
