Increased financial backing from the corporate world has injected fresh talent and excitement into the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.

The new found financial muscle has resulted in clubs offering lucrative contracts thereby attracting experienced players with proven track records.

Simba Bhora made a splash in their debut season by acquiring the services of former Warriors winger Talent Chawapiwa.

Similarly, Yadah FC, aiming to attract fans and revitalise local football, signed veteran midfielder, Khama Billiat after his departure from Kaizer Chiefs.

Yadah’s ambitions do not stop there, as they reportedly set their sights on securing former Warriors captain Knowledge Musona and vice-captain Ovidy Karuru, along with forward Evans Rusike.

Manica Diamonds also signed former Warriors star Kuda Mahachi after his short stint in Ghana.

The experienced players, known for their skills, experience, and passion, are expected to raise the level of competition and excitement in the local league

The trend extends beyond domestic talent, with a new wave of Zimbabwean players returning from abroad.

Butholezwe Ncube, recently released from South Africa’s AmaZulu due to injuries, joined Division One side Sheasham FC.
