FC Platinum out for revenge

Story by Courage Bushe

FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza is praying for consistency after his side rediscovered the winning formula in recent weeks.

The defending champions have a tricky assignment against their bogey side Herentals at Mandava Stadium this Saturday.

After a slow start, the Platinum Miners are slowly getting into their groove as they are undefeated in their last five Premier League matches, picking up 11 points in the process.

They however face a side that has no respect for their pedigree with head coach Norman Mapeza equating the match to a derby.

“To us is a Derby because we have and are still sharing the same venue. We know how they play at Mandava Stadium and we are ready for the encounter. We are approaching the game with the same hunger, same desire and mentality. What is important for us is to win the game. We won’t go into this match with our tails between our legs,” said coach Mapeza.

Interestingly, in the last seven home games at Mandava Stadium, Herentals have won four and drawn twice, which makes Saturday’s game a potential thriller.
