Dynamos’ title hopes go up in flames

HARARE giants, Dynamos have blown the chance to chase for a league and cup double after suffering a one-nil defeat at the hands of Manica Diamonds at Gibbo stadium this Wednesday.

Dynamos went into the rearranged fixture seeking a victory to reduce the gap between themselves and log leaders Ngezi Platinum Stars to five points but it was not to be.

The Glamour Boys were outshone by Manica Diamonds, who coincidentally moved into second place after the victory over Dynamos.

DeMbare now need a miracle to be able to wrestle to league away from Ngezi Platinum who now need eight points from the 15 available to clinch their maiden title.

Meanwhile, the match day set for this weekend will see Green Fuel hosting Bulawayo Chiefs at Gibbo stadium this Saturday, Chicken Inn clash with reigning champions FC Platinum at Luveve, and Cranborne Bullets target Triangle United at the National Sports Stadium on the same day.

Sheasham face Manica Diamonds at Bata Stadium while Simba Bhora kick off Herentals at Baobab Stadium.

On Sunday, Dynamos entertain Black Rhinos at the National Sports Stadium, Hwange welcome log leaders Ngezi Platinum at the Colliery, Yadah face ZPC Kariba at Baobab, while a clash of traditional giants Highlanders and CAPS United will be held at Barbourfields stadium.
