Battle lines have been drawn in the epic battle pitting city rivals Highlanders and 2015 Champions Chicken Inn at Barbourfields stadium this Friday.

Highlanders are oozing with confidence after a morale-boosting 2-1 victory over defending champions FC Platinum last weekend which has seen them topping the charts with fellow giants Dynamos and CAPS United.

Bosso are also walking with a spring in their step after settling the debate on the most followed club on the domestic scene have set the bar on attendance figures at Babourfields Stadium.

Chicken Inn are however not reading much into the numbers with Captain Xolani Ndlovu saying they will fight tooth and nail to snatch the three points in a match where bragging rights are at stake.

“A big game for us but as players, we are ready to face Highlanders. We have been talking about this game and the boys are ready for the challenge,” said Ndlovu.

The Gamecocks are yet to concede this season and Coach Prince Matore is confident his charges have what it takes to upstage Bosso.

“So far so good. the guys are looking sharper with each game. It’s an important game for us since we are playing at home,” said Matore.

Matore went on, “We will not be intimidated by the crowd. What is important is for the boys to remain focused. We have watched our opponents play. They are playing good football and are competitive, but we are ready.”

With one win and two draws after three outings, the Gamecocks will be handicapped by the absence of Calum English Brown and Munashe Pini who are nursing injuries.
