THE ruling ZANU PF has reiterated the need for party structures to promote discipline, peace, and come up with sound voter mobilisation strategies for a resounding victory in the forthcoming general elections.

In a bid to instil the party’s ideology, members of the ZANU PF Youth League executive converged in Harare under the ‘Chitepo School of Ideology’ banner.

ZANU PF Acting Secretary for Administration, Patrick Chinamasa said discipline is of paramount importance in the party’s mobilisation drive ahead of the impending harmonised elections.

“Discipline is of paramount importance and it is expected from you. We are heading for historic elections, and the youth are critical, let us use this as a solid foundation in coming up with youth mobilisation strategies.

“You must be acquainted with all Electoral processes, this will help in attaining the much-needed five million votes, polling station-specific mobilisation campaigning,” he said.

National Political Commissar, Dr Mike Bimha urged youth league members to take the lead in the party’s mobilisation drive for a resounding victory.

“We need to be united to attain five million votes in this year’s election,” said Dr Bimha.

Secretary for Youth Affairs, Tino Machakaire implored youth leaders to shun violence at all costs.

“The Youth League as the vanguard of the party must ensure communities shun drugs and substance abuse, drug peddlers must never be allowed into our communities. ZANU PF is a peace-loving party, and members must not use the party for their benefit. Let us preach tolerance, shun negative vices and focus on a robust mobilisation exercise. We are in the campaign mode,” he said.

The ZANU PF party has strengthened all its wings ahead of this year’s general elections.
