PREPARATIONS for the ZANU PF National People’s Conference set for Gweru next week are nearing completion, with stakeholders confident of hosting a memorable event.

Constructors are now putting final touches for the successful hosting of the critical event on the ruling party’s calendar.

ZANU PF national chairperson, Cde Oppah Muchinguri Kashiri, who led the national organising committee on an assessment tour of the venue in Gweru this Friday, says the occasion which comes hard on the heels of the ruling party’s resounding General Elections victory will cement the political party’s prowess.

“This conference will certainly prove that as a revolutionary party, we have indeed come of age. It will certainly show our detractors that we are indeed a ruling party with clear structures. We are a people’s party which observes constitutionalism.

“By hosting this conference religiously year after year, we are abiding by our party’s constitution. We are different from other parties which lack direction. The world will witness what we are made of as we continue to prove our competence as a revolutionary, movement,” she said.

Cde Muchinguri Kashiri commended the Midlands organising committee for its sterling work, despite being given short notice to host the conference.

“I am happy to note that we are already at almost 80% in our undertaking. You have demonstrated your prowess as a powerhouse in terms of organising. You are the only province with a conference centre. You have proved to be the leader in terms of implementing the Vision 2030 of modernisation. Thumps up to Midlands leadership for leading the way. You make the President proud through your hard work and dedication,” she noted.

Accreditation of delegates is currently underway at the conference venue, with dignitaries expected to arrive in Gweru on the 26th of this month.

The conference will be held from the 27th to the 28th of this month.
