Traditional leaders key to national development

Story by Jerold Sasa, Mashonaland East Bureau Chief

THE ruling ZANU PF party says it values the role of traditional leaders in national development.

ZANU PF Second Secretary and Vice President, Cde Kembo Mohadi told ZBC News after a meeting with village heads at Murewa Centre that traditional leaders are key in the government’s mantra of leaving no one and no place behind as they are the foundation of the local governance system.

“We value the role of traditional leaders in the success of our development programmes as we move towards achieving Vision 2030,” he said.

Cde Mohadi is on a tour of Mashonaland East Province’s nine administrative districts where he is meeting traditional leaders and party organs.
