Story by Theophilus Chuma

KUVIMBA Mining House is eyeing finalisation of the first phase at Sandawana Mine, which is meant to pave way for mining operations at the lithium mine.

One of the country’s largest lithium ore reserves, Sandawana Mine is set to operational soon, with the first phase of the project almost complete.

According to Kuvimba Mining House Acting Group chief executive officer, Engineer Trevor Barnard, the target is to implement the first phase within the shortest possible time.

“We are currently talking to a number of different partners to fund the project so that we can start with the construction of that within the next number of months.”

Sandawana Mine is one of the portfolios under Kuvimba Mining House, which also includes Shamva Gold Mine, Bindura Nickel Company and Great Dyke Investments.

The mining vehicle is also exploring options of producing platinum concentrate at the mine in the Great Dyke.
