THE Zimbabwe National Army says it remains committed to ensuring a conducive and peaceful environment for the county’s developmental aspirations to be fulfilled.
Speaking during a handover-takeover ceremony of Command at Vitalis Musungwa Gava Zvinavashe Barracks in Masvingo, Commander of the Zimbabwe National Army, Lieutenant General Anselem Sanyatwe stressed the importance of the ZNA in feeding into the government’s vision for inclusive development.
“The people of Zimbabwe have high hopes and expectations for a better future and as ZNA, we should ensure that a conducive and tranquil environment prevails so that all government’s developmental programmes, the citizenry of this country and its visitors enjoy a sense of belonging and security in this beautiful country.”
Lieutenant General Sanyatwe commented outgoing Commander 4 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Ephias Mahachi for steering several developmental programmes in Masvingo, urging the incoming Commander Brigadier General Cephas Gurira to be vigilant and professional in executing his duties.
The two commanders pledged to ensure national security and stability in their new roles.
“I appreciate the support I got from the people of Masvingo during my time as Commander of the 4 Infantry Brigade,” said Brigadier General Mahachi.
Brigadier General Cephas Gurira said, “Let me take this opportunity to assure you that we will work together to improve the livelihoods of the generality of our people while at the same time ensuring peace and unity in the province.”
The Zimbabwe National Army has been spearheading several developmental programmes across the country including building schools, clinics and bridges.
