Zimbabwe Chinese Enterprise Job Fair attracts over 50 companies

RELATIONS between Zimbabwe and China continue to blossom with scores of local people getting employment opportunities in various Chinese companies.
The two-day fair attracted companies in mining, agriculture, engineering and construction, where hundreds of people got employment opportunities, from general hand to executive positions.
“We have 50 companies with various job opportunities. We have Chinese companies, it gives a chance for linkages, it shows that Chinese investments in the country is creating a win-win situation as locals get jobs,” said Zimbabwe China Exchange Centre general manager, Mr Donald Rushambwa.
Facilitator, Nabeela Jorgee said, “The platform shaped how the job seekers needed to present themselves to get employment, etiquette, but at the same time this shows how the Zimbabwe-China ties have been growing in various sectors.”
The Second Republic has been credited for creating an enabling environment of growth.
“We have 4 units that we have developed in the past 5 years in mining steel, and energy as a result of government policies. Already we have over 4000 workers and this job fair will give us more qualified employees, we thank the government of Zimbabwe for the opportunity to meet the more competent people,” said the Administration Manager of Dinson Iron and Steel Group, Mr Dean Chen.
The job fair, which is in its second year running, is an annual programme established by the Zimbabwe China Exchange Centre and the Chinese Chamber of Enterprises in Zimbabwe.
