THE Zimbabwe Golf Association has launched the Zimbabwe SMEs Golf championship in partnership with the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC).
The inaugural SMEs golf tournament is set to bring together corporates and other key stakeholders on one platform.
Being an interactive sport, golf has been used as a vital catalyst to bring together business and sport as part of efforts to promote lasting partnerships.
“We want to engage SMEs and stakeholders to do business and also enjoy the play of golf and when you look at a cooperate golf tournament, it is 80% business and 20% sport so people need to play golf while discussing business,” said Zimbabwe Golf Tournament Director, Mr Ephraim Mashingaidze.
Zimbabwe Golf Association has engaged ZBC to provide national coverage for SMEs to increase their brand equity.
“As a country, we are working towards vision 2030 and for us to get there we need SMEs to help grow the economy, and as ZBC we are there to help them grow their business and expose their brands across the world,” said ZBC’s senior marketing director, Calista Chikanya.
Meanwhile, 120 golfers will represent thirty companies that will take part in the Zimbabwe SME’s golf championship.
The first-ever annual event is set to tee off on the 12th of May at Royal Harare sports club.
