THE government says youths are set to benefit from the updated National Youth Service Programme.
In a post-cabinet media briefing in Harare this Tuesday, the Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Dr Jenfan Muswere revealed that the six-month programme targeting the age group between 18 and 35 will infuse skills training and entrepreneurial development.
He added that graduating youths will also be prioritised in public sector employment and access to finance.
The nation was also briefed on the Ministry of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage’s Information Communication Technology (ICT) Systems Integration Strategy.
Cabinet also updated the nation regarding the progress that has been made on the implementation of the Binga Development Initiative meant to improve the socio-economic status of the district in Matabeleland North Province.
Cabinet briefed the nation on the Tourism Amendment Bill as well as ongoing cholera response strategies.
