PSL fixtures to go ahead as scheduled

THE Castle Lager Premier Soccer League has confirmed that Match Day 27 fixtures will go ahead as scheduled this weekend.

This comes after Zimbabwe’s international friendly against Botswana was cancelled.

PSL Match Day 27 fixtures were initially put on hold this Tuesday to pave the way for the Warriors International friendly match against the Zebras of Botswana, which was eventually called off.

With a tight schedule on their shoulders, the PSL says match day 27 fixtures will go ahead.

“The PSL confirms that the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Match Day 27 fixtures are on as scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday. I understand the camp for the national team goes on and as the PSL we will notify if there are clubs who have proposed to postpone their matches if they have three or more players called in the national team and should they request, the PSL will communicate,” said Premier Soccer League spokesperson, Kudzai Bare.

Meanwhile, the Warriors will go ahead with their training camp in preparation for World Cup qualifiers which kick off next month.

This has left clubs with players called for national duty in a tight spot, with Harare giants Dynamos requesting the postponement of their clash with Manica Diamonds due to the unavailability of key players.

The PSL is yet to confirm if such requests will be granted.

Match Day 27 kicks off this Saturday with Herentals entertaining Yadah at the National Sports Stadium, Ngezi Platinum host Chicken Inn at Baobab Stadium, while a battle for the top four between Manica Diamonds and Dynamos ensues at Gibbo Stadium.

Bulawayo Chiefs host Simba Bhora at Luveve Stadium, ZPC Kariba welcome reigning champions FC Platinum at Nyamhunga Stadium, while Black Rhinos date Green Fuel at Bata Stadium.

The action continues on Sunday as Triangle United plays Hwange at Gibbo Stadium, Highlanders face Cranborne Bullets at Barbourfields Stadium, while CAPS United entertains Sheasham at the National Sports Stadium.
