New equipment for Hwange health care facilities delivered

PUBLIC private partnerships are paying off after an assortment of equipment was handed over to healthcare facilities in Hwange district as part of the Second Republic’s drive to ensure universal health coverage.
Vision 2030 envisages an affordable and efficient health delivery system, hence availing critical equipment to health facilities is key towards the attainment of that goal.
The private sector is playing a key role in the initiative with the Rotary Club of Victoria Falls and Wild Horizons handing over equipment which includes baby resuscitation machines, beds, patient transfer trollies and monitors.
“This is in support of the government’s vision to make Zimbabwe an upper middle-income economy by 2030, part of that is ensuring that health care is provided in a particular standard and that is with the scope of the National Development Strategy that we are running with as a nation. For us, this is a critical donation today because we are going into winter and when our babies are delivered, we need a place for them to be warm before they could be nursing with their mother.
Whilst we are finishing with the mom, the baby has to be a warm place. All these things here, feed into us being able accomplish our goals. This is our nation, this is our health care, this is our hospital, and today we are demonstrating that we as the people of Victoria Falls are willing to put our hands on the plough and build the nation,” said Hwange District DMO, Dr Fungai Musinami.
President of the Rotary Club of Victoria Falls, Miss Tafadzwa Machirori said, “We spoke to the DMO and we shared the needs of the Victoria Falls Hospital and others in the districts we have delivered this consignment to assist in improving health delivery.”
The Second Republic is on a drive to strengthen Zimbabwe’s healthcare system under the mantra of leaving no one and no place behind.
