Log leaders Highlanders face FC Platinum

CASTLE Lager Premier Soccer League log leaders Highlanders face a stern test of character when they welcome former champions FC Platinum to Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.

The two sides have in the past engaged in exciting encounters, and more of the same is expected this Sunday.

Although Highlanders are at the summit of the log, they come into the match on the back of some unconvincing displays in recent matches where they have won only once in the last five.

In the same vein, FC Platinum are not in better form as they have won just once in their last five outings which makes it a high-stakes encounter.

The two sides are separated by four points as FC Platinum await the determination of their abandoned match against CAPS United.

PSL action however starts on Saturday with Green Fuel welcoming ZPC Kariba to Chisumbanje.

Struggling Yadah will host inconsistent CAPS United at the Heart Stadium, while Simba Bhora will battle defending champions Ngezi Platinum Stars at Wadzanayi Stadium.

The last match of the day will be a low-key Bulawayo derby as unpredictable Bulawayo Chiefs take on Chicken Inn.

Sunday sees in-form Manica Diamonds taking on Bikita Minerals at Sakubva Stadium while Dynamos face bogey side Herentals at Rufaro Stadium.

Meanwhile strugglers Hwange and Arenel Movers meet at the Colliery as TelOne and Chegutu Pirates battle at Bata Stadium in Gweru.
