Liberation hero, Cde Mugove Mubaiwa buried in Gutu

LIBERATION hero, Cde Mugove Mubaiwa, who died on the 8th of April, has been buried at Jacobsdale farm in Gutu.

Hundreds of people including government officials, ZANU PF supporters, family and friends gathered at Jacobsdale farm in Gutu for the burial of Cde Mugove Mubaiwa was described as a patriotic cadre dedicated towards serving his country.

Masvingo Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Ezra Chadzamira said, “Cde Mubaiwa’s untimely death has indeed left a void which will be very difficult to fill at a time we need gallant machinists like him to advocate and ensure implementation of the country’s Vision 2030.”

“As a party, we feel very sad by the death of Cde Mugove Mubaiwa because he was an active member who withstood peer pressure which obstructs many of our youths,” said Masvingo ZANU PF Provincial Chairperson, Cde Robson Mavhenyengwa.

The ZANU PF Youth League paid tribute to Cde Mubaiwa thanking the Second Republic under the leadership of President Emmerson Mnangagwa for recognising young people according to their heroes’ status.

ZANU PF Deputy Secretary for Youth Affairs, Honourable Cde John Paradza said, “As youths today we celebrate Cde Mugove’s life and his contributions to the youth league. He was dedicated to ensuring the empowerment of young people leading by example. Again, we want to thank President Mnangagwa and his administration for recognising the self-sacrifice of Cde Mubaiwa through conferring Heroes Status. It is quite encouraging to other youths.”

Cde Mubaiwa was born on the 21st of July in 1979 in Gutu district.
He joined the Zimbabwe National Youth Service at Border Gezi Training Centre in 2003.

At the tender age of 23, he intensely participated in the Land reform programme, demonstrating a desire to ensure the empowerment of Zimbabweans.

He held various positions in the ZANU PF Youth League and at the time of his death, he was the Youth League Provincial Secretary for Finance.

He is survived by his wife and three Children.
