ZIMBABWE’S economic blueprint, the National Development Strategy One (NDS1) and Vision 2030 have been simplified, summarised and amplified in a book titled “The Growth Transformative Strategy”.
The book, launched at a colourful ceremony in Harare this Friday was written by Zimbabwe Institute of Strategic Thinking Chief Executive Officer, Dr Tinashe Muzamhindo.
“I went through NDS1 and Vision 2030 and picked some areas where I thought I should simplify. I discovered these are 2 great documents and there is need to reclaim the nexus between the two,” said Dr Muzamhindo.
The contents of the book have attracted the attention of government officials, chief executive officers and entrepreneurs.
Permanent Secretary in the Office of Vice President Kembo Mohadi, Dr Benson Dube said, “The book marks the beginning of a comprehensive approach to Vision 2030 and the NDS1 framework. It summarises these visions which hold the potential to uplift Zimbabwe and its people. The book promotes a nexus between the government and the private sector and revitalisation of parastatals and state entities.”
“It’s a manual of unique patterns that resonates with the vision of an upper-middle-income economy by 2030. The book presents a roadmap for economic growth,” said Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Development, Honourable Polite Kambamura.
Some of the issues tackled in the book include the role of the private sector, comprehensive debt clearance strategy, harnessing wealth creation and establishing a national planning commission.
