First Lady hailed for education and empowerment programmes

THE people of the Gutu district in Masvingo province have commended the First Lady, Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa for complimenting President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s developmental agenda through various community-led programmes.

While complimenting President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s vision as a mother, the First Lady, Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa is touching lives through community-led interventions aimed at enhancing self-sustenance, building healthy relationships at the family level and addressing social ills.

This Friday, an electric atmosphere engulfed Dewure High School in Gutu Central Constituency as thousands of community members invited the First Lady who was accompanied by Evangelist Nelly Gwatidzo and Chaplain Christine Phiri, gathered to tap into her guiding wisdom on empowerment, hard work and building sustainable families.

Villagers who are revelling in President Mnangagwa’s development drive said they owe him a debt of gratitude and would vote him back into office in this Wednesday’s general elections so that he continues with the good work.

Furthermore, they also want the First Lady to continue with her life-transforming initiatives that are moulding families and improving the status of women.

Through the Angel of Hope Foundation, Amai Mnangagwa handed over farming inputs, 30 tonnes of rice and 30 tonnes of mealie meal among other basic commodities to the community.

The First Lady held interactions with community members where she highlighted her life-transforming projects focusing on empowerment, mentorship, health care, and inclusive and free academic courses, among others.

She humbly appealed for youths to desist from indulging in drug abuse.

Masvingo Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Ezra Chadzamira and Gutu Central Legislator, Honourable Winston Chitando paid glowing tribute to Amai Mnangagwa’s educative and empowerment programmes.

Adding colour to the event, IYASA gave a well-polished GBV act while Sungura maestro, Alick Macheso wowed the crowd.

The First Lady’s educative programmes have been commended for curbing social ills such as domestic violence, child sexual exploitation, divorce, and drug and substance abuse.
