Black Rhinos dislodge defending champions Herentals Queens from summit

Story by Mthokozisi Dube, Sports Reporter

FORMER champions Black Rhinos will go into the mid-season break top of the Women’s Super League after dislodging defending champions, Herentals.

Black Rhinos Queens gave Queen Lozikeyi a 15-goal baptism of fire at Crecent Sports Club to take their points tally to 37, condemning the Bulawayo-based side to the relegation zone.

Interestingly, Queen Lozikeyi suffered a similar defeat when they fell to Herentals last week.

The victory saw Black Rhinos Queens taking over pole position from defending champions Herentals who trail the log leaders by a point after sharing the spoils with Chapungu following a two-all draw.

Correctional Queens got the better of Chipembere with a three-nil victory, while Platinum Royals went to the breather with their tails up after dismissing MSU two-nil in a Midlands Derby.

Bulawayo-based Barrow Jets had an unfruitful journey in Harare after suffering a three-nil hiding at the hands of Yadah Queens.

Meanwhile, Division One football continued in the Southern Region, with Ubuntu Queens beating New Orleans three-nil, while Loxion Vipers beat Black Boots one-nil.

Lobengula City Queens beat Street Set two-nil, while the clash between Las Palmas and Western Rangers ended in a two-all stalemate.
