Beitbridge electorate pins hope on by-elections

Story by Providence Maraneli

WITH the race to fill the vacant Beitbridge West constituency seat getting hotter, residents are hopeful that the by-elections will usher in a service delivery-oriented leader.

The town is prone to cholera because of poor service delivery, and residents say they are looking for someone who will end the challenges bedevilling their town.

A resident of the town told the ZBC Nws, “We have challenges of waste management, drainage, road network so we are looking forward to an MP who can deliver these. We want someone who can unify people.”

“This is Beitbridge and we live off trading and the person who is an MP should understand this and we are ready for the by-elections,” another said.

Beitbridge constituency fell vacant after Morgan Ncube was recalled by Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Interim Secretary General Sengezo Tshabangu.

ZANU PF’s Cde Thusani Ndou will battle the CCC duo of Morgan Ncube and Blessing Choeni, ZAPU’s Thoriso Moyo and independent candidate Brendan Dube.
