The Embassy of the State of Palestine in Harare has condemned the killing of seven Palestinians by Israeli occupation forces, while dozens were injured during the massacre in Aqabat Jaber refugee camp, Jericho.

The area has been besieged for 10 days now and the number of Palestinians victims killed has reached 50 since the beginning of 2023.

In a statement, the Palestinian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mr Tamer Almassr said, “We hold the Apartheid Israeli government fully and directly responsible for these heinous crimes which are encouraged by fascist leaders of Apartheid Israeli government who are competing against each other to kill Palestinians as well as to increase the suffrage of Palestinians.”

He said this has resulted in the demolition of Palestinian homes as well as new plans to build settlements on Palestinian land.

He added, “The international silence and double standards towards the Palestinian people’s suffering have encouraged Israel to increase its crimes and violations against our people.

“We, therefore, call on the progressive peoples, governments and human rights organizations to condemn and hold Apartheid Israel accountable for these heinous crimes and protect our people.”
